Our Presence in the BIM Community

bim_communityTechnology evolves fast. In order to always be updated about what's new as well as share ideas with other professionals, it's very important to be present wherever the subject is building information modeling. We at BIMSolutions are part of several BIM and AEC communities, discussion forums and blogs like Autodesk Discussion Group, AUGI - Autodesk Users Group International, ORUG - Ontario Revit Users Group, GORUG - Greater Ottawa Users Group, etc. We also attend AU - Autodesk University, local Autodesk events and BIM meetings. We are part of the Building SMART Alliance, which works hard to define BIM standards. On top of that, BIMSolutions is part of the select group of Autodesk Beta version testers, wich allow us to try beforehand the new directions the software is moving as well as part of Autodesk Feedback program, which allow us to give our opinion on software usage.

Autodesk University

autodesk_universityAutodesk University conference and exhibition brings together Autodesk users, developers, executives, solution providers, and strategic partners from around the world in Las Vegas.

No other conference offers Autodesk users so many possibilities plus a wealth of real-world, practical solutions and important professional connections to help them stay competitive in today's global economy.

ORUG - Ontario Revit Users Group

orugThe purpose of this group is to connect the Revit users in Ontario who would like to have their say. We discuss issues that range from general Revit use to specific topics that only affect us in this part of the world.

GORUG - Greater Ottawa Revit Users Group

GORUG is proud to hold an event for the users, and by the users.  We meet on behalf of all disciplnies, and within the larger concept of BIM.  Our goal with this group is for the real deal, the nitty-gritty, and the hard and fast reality of getting projects done in this collaborative and integrated platform.  Hear from experts and beginners alike on tips & tricks, trials & tribulations, and come away with some food for thought or best practices to use within your own company.

Founded in 2009, the Greater Ottawa Revit User Group (GORUG) is here to represent the Ottawa/Gatineau National Capital Area of Revit/BIM users.  It was formed by users of Revit for the sole purpose of sharing ideas, expanding expertise, and increasing knowledge on the latest in design and production technology.  We meet approximately four times a year and will put on events to support member interest.  We fully endorse member input and are always looking for volunteers and member ideas to keep this group running.  It's up to you, the user, to make this a success!

Autodesk Feedback Program

Autodesk_feedbackBecause BIMSolutions is a regular member of Autodesk Customer Feedback Program, we can reap measurable benefits like influencing the course of future products through access to Autodesk products during development and also learning new features early, so migration to a newer software version is seamless. By joining Autodesk Feedback Programs we have an excellent opportunity to become involved in the process of creating computer software used worldwide!

AUGI - Autodesk Users Group International

AugiAUGI is the Autodesk User Group International, officially recognized by Autodesk as representing the Autodesk user community. AUGI has two prime directives. The first is to assist its members by presenting programs and information that will enhance their use of Autodesk products. The second is to deliver the voice of the user community to Autodesk, thus assisting Autodesk in product development and giving users a say in the process.

AUGI provides an environment for users to help users. We offer programs and services that allow the Autodesk user community access to one another and to Autodesk. Our goal is to implement programs that are lacking in the Autodesk community rather than compete with programs already available to users. Our motto is Users Helping Users. We work very hard to promote our membership as a community working together to strengthen each other and the community in general.

BuildingSMART Alliance

buildingsmart_allianceCreated to spearhead technical, political, and financial support for advanced digital technology in the real property industry—from concept, design and construction through operations and management—the buildingSMART alliance operates within the independent nonprofit National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS). This public/private initiative expands on goals of the North American Chapter of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI-NA), whose Industry Foundation Classes (IFCs) have initiated open standards for national and international links among industry players. It provides developers and users of Building Information Models (BIMs), the digital tools that are increasingly helping to share highly accurate information throughout a facility's life cycle.

In contrast with centuries-old ways of documenting facilities with two-dimensional drawings plus specifications—a process recently automated with Computer Aided Design (CAD)—new digital technology brings together owners, operators, designers, constructors, regulators and other stakeholders around a single Building Information Model (BIM), a unified tool that offers unprecedented accuracy, speed and economy. The closely related concept of open standards that let all users communicate quickly and efficiently, nationally and internationally, led to the creation of the International Alliance for Interoperability and the coinage "buildingSMART."

Autodesk Revit Discussion Group

Autodesk discussion groups are an environment where Autodesk customers and industry partners can ask questions and share information about Autodesk products. Discussion group topics will be publicly available worldwide. BIMSolutions encourages you to participate by posting questions or providing input or answers to questions from other users.
